The arts and cultural field is changing rapidly. Be part of leading those changes with a master's degree in arts administration. Our program is practical and professional, and you will receive personal attention from our faculty of national arts leaders.
Passion has always been a driving force in the arts and it still is, but passion needs
help. There are audiences to be developed, budgets to be balanced, funds to be raised,
and staff to be hired.
The M.A. in Arts Administration (M.A.A.A.) at Goucher is focused on providing students with the tools they need to ensure that audiences are engaged, grants are funded, organizations are marketed, copyright regulations are followed, and nonprofits are in compliance with all regulations.
While working toward an arts administration degree at Goucher, you will learn from national arts leaders, develop a strong, national network, be inspired by a community of mentors and peers and enhance your career.
This program is designed for those who want to learn while also working full time. Our signature low-residency model features online coursework throughout the year with an annual residency on campus for nine days in July.
Arts administration refers to all aspects of the management of arts and cultural organizations. Arts administrators work in the nonprofit, public (governmental), entrepreneurial, and for-profit sectors. The study of arts administration provides individuals with the knowledge, tools, and understanding to create, design, develop, lead, fund, evaluate, and advocate for arts and cultural programs, people, and organizations.
The core curriculum of the M.A.A.A. at Goucher covers all key areas of arts administration along with a variety of electives that allow each student to design their own path through the program.
